I got the below numbers from the PERM FDLC site for the applications filed in 2005 and approved in different years of 2005,6,7,8
2005 India 1353 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2005)
2006 India 3888 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2006)
2007 India 60 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2007)
2008 India 10 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2008)
Total 5311
5311 for both EB1-5 : So taking 50% for EB2I - 2655
GC : 2655*2.5 = 6637 ~ 6500 (considering lucky 2008 Aug-Sep approvals, 2009 Sept)
These are the right numbers for the 2005. Thanks for tempgc for doing this. And the corresponding numbers 3888, 60, 10 have to be deducted against from the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively.

I was looking at the web site and I noticed that most of those stories can be special and unique cases and there is no research or studies to back up the claims in notcanada.com. This makes me think maybe this web site is sponsored by people in Canada who wants to stop legal immigration to their country by publishing in the web site these stories. Some of these stories happen to all immigrants in all countries: in Europe, US, Australia, Gulf countries, etc.. .and maybe Canada too but thy are not specific to canada. if you go to any countries with high immigrants number, you will see cases of people who failed to succeed but it doesn't mean that all the cases are like that.
so before you believe the stories in notcanada.com think about the people who sponsor the web site and their agenda, maybe they just want to scare immigrants away from coming to Canada. Maybe they are just nationalists who don't like immigrants and there are a lot of those in so called developed countries.

The point of the thread is that many people now think that cost of american dream is greater than the opportunity, and the balance is tilting in favor of other countries. Everyone makes their own assessment. No point in getting personal about it. Just a suggestion..using phrases like "suck blood out your body" will just reduce the effect of your argument.
And Do you (canadian wanna be) have any clue that to get respected salary and position you will be forced by illiterate Canadians to have "Professional Engineering Certificates"... It will suck blood out of your body for 5 years... So just do not read "Greener Side" of Canadian Immigration... I know it may not be applicable to all but more or less most of will have to face the same music in their careers. My all Canadian friends and relatives want to be Americans.. Only some of them practically could proceed for that.. After some stage of life it becomes hard to move families.. That is the reason they are facing now to take decision and simultaneously do not want to live in Canada anymore.. If you have 101 fever it will take 1 month to have Doctor's appointment... GST.. Higher taxes.. statistically there are chances "Most of members of this forum - Canadian Wanna Be" will have less promotions and/or increments in salary eventhough they will find themselves most skilled wherever they will work. Difference between Job shops and reputed Companies
Indian body shoppers employ a H1b Persons and many of them are in hourly. No project then no pay. Also because of H1b and GC employer has complete control over the employees about pay and other benefits. No pay in bench is violation of law and both employee and employer are willingly accept that. Because of that employer and employee does not have any risk and employer always make huge profits without exposure of any risk. Employee also does not have any risk of losing GC process. So our body shoppers are attractive destination for GC aspirants.
The companies which follow rules are forced to pay bench or lay off. So both employee and employer are risk of survival. Companies may be under risk of heavy loss when there are too many people are in bench. That means companies which follow rules and regulations are making loss in tough times at the same time Body shops always make money and worst case scenario no loss no gain. Also GC process is uncertain for those who are working in good companies

By taking on this subject we are providing good coverage for SRK and talking negative about US Immigraiton we are making them corrupt we should not put pressure on them ( US Immigration ) let them do there duty.

One of my colleague whose job description is little different then mine has a PD of Sep 2003 and his Labour got approved but he left the company.
So is there anyway his approved labor is useful to me. What are the ifs,buts etc.

LOL.....I see where this is headed. We will all post on these threads and whine and complain, just like we do with the visa bulletin. And then in about a week's time, it will all die and no one will bother about this memo. We will "accept" whatever is offered to us. But I am sure within the next week, you can see 10 different threads with people talking about stuff such as "Gandhigiri", "Flower" campaign, "Hunger Strike", "Lawsuit", "Email Campaign", "Letter Campaign", "Phone Campaign", etc.....Don't worry, nothing will materialize and all these will die down. We as Immigrants have learned to accept everything and never fight back :)

I am very reluctant to post in this thread. But could not resist.
Few weeks ago, I was watching TV here in US. The monsoon rains arrived late in AP and YSR declares that the rains have come back because he and his party are now in the power.
With a smirk on his face he says that the rain would not come if he had not won the elections.
He also states that the God was happy that he is in the power and blessed all the people with those rains.
I could not believe how these politicians can portray their self image and how those illiterate or hopeless people fall into their traps.
Now, it seems, the same rain is the cause for the brutal death of YSR. I am not sure how to interpret his own words.

Dont also forget that the points you need to make for the Canadian system is reviewed periodically. It can go up or down based on the need for skilled immigrants. This way they control the numbers.Then, live in Canada as a PR for 3 years and you are citizen. That is what I call a defined PATH. Something you can work towards... it also serve as an incentive for not towing the illegal route!!
Live responsibly and legally in the United States for 15 years you can still be "kicked out"...employer petition is bondage my friend... There should be an earned path towards AT THE LEAST permanent residency, if not citizenship. Why would most people bother if it is almost impossible to achieve this through a legal path??? I received yesterday EAD renewal. Even though my priority date is not current, and the EAD was approved on 7/16, the EAD is valid for one year only. I talked to lawyer and she said giving 2 year EAD is at the USCIS' discretion. I am not sure what to read from this. Whether EB2 India would be current within a year or USCIS wants to make more money if renewals are charged. I am not sure whether I would be charged for renewal next year though.

We have used Web fax in the past, I had also read in a different thread that it (faxes to senators) is how things work here. there were reports of how other groups had used and sent more web faxes than us etc etc ....
Why dont we do that now.
Fax to every senator, include the congress womans letter
Make an IV statement supporting the congresswoman
Lot of people will join the fax campaign
Let us try multiple avenues - Lawsuit , blogs, faxes, media etc etc.
Let us create as much noise as we can
Please enable the web fax.
