Thanks for the clarification. Actually what i meant was, we did highlight to the lawmakers at some point that the points based system is better. I know it was never IV's policy to ask for a points based system.
And yes if the system worked fine, the US is definitely better than aus and canada combined. Money and everything wise. I guess someone on here correctly pointed out that it is the sheer volume of immigrants combined with the fact that there is no real incentive to speed things up. The employer is happy coz there is no need to raise wages and new h1's can always be hired, the immigration attorneys are happy coz they make money due to slowness, the American techie population is happy coz there is no mass influx of tech workers to "drive the wages lower", Anti-immigrant organizations are happy coz once again no mass influx which may lead to "chain migration", the Apartment industry is happy coz if u cant buy u HAVE to rent, and lastly UCSIS/DOL people are happy coz they get more time to review each case. If there is no point to granting you the GC faster why will they? You will pay the same amt of tax b4 and after ur GC. Now in the Canadian system, there is a Fixed Path AND it is QUICK. Nothing can be silly when it comes to interpreting USCIS rules and regulations.
Unused numbers should be used before Sep 30th. There is no mechanism for overflow of numbers to next year.

Say even if you get the canadian PR, you have to pay tax's close to 45%.
Medical is free but unless you are really sick or anticipate being sick, I think its not much of value. And if you are in a decent comp in the US you get almost free care.
Also the job senario is not as good as its in the US. I heard its a lot more harder to get a job in Canada. Yes its true with PR you can work anywhere but how many of us will do that.
In fact one of my friend told me the cost of living is higher there.
I maybe naive and have limited knowledge about Canada, but from the above observations I think one will be disappointed to go to Canada from US.

My point was to a show a mirror to people who post some ridiculous posts but get away since they seem to be in the majority or atleast seem to be the loudest. As for Kashmir hindus, I truly wishes Justice is done to them. They are the Children of kashmir. Just like I wish justice is done for every person in India whether the crime be done by extremists or State actors. As for the non-existent discrimination of minorities, I hope you are right but trying to silence people who raise such issues is no way to provide justice. Even to this day, discrimination against blacks is a matter of grave concern in this country. A strength of a society/democracy is the treatment of the weakest/minorities.

So regardless of what August bulletin says, USCIS can just, on a whim stop accepting 485 petitions in Mid July just because they have received "Too many" and the mail room clerk is tired ? I dont know but it really does not sound like something USCIS can do on a whim without publishing a change in the rule first.

Anyone aware if one of the spouses has had a shoplifting offense in Singapore, how does that affect the Canada PR process? The offense was 6 years ago, I read on cic.ga that you can submit an application so that they may ignore it...for Canada PR, if its been over 5 years since your last offense and no other history of conviction.

Very soon, USCIS will issue an updated I-485 with added questions like:
a) Have you ever been involved with Quixstar or Amway?
b) If yes, did you ever get successful in rubbing Quixstar shit on other desi(s) whose I-485s are pending with us?
c) Did you ever get f****ed up by your Up-line members?
d) If yes, please provide a notarized documentation on it otherwise you'll see an RFE from us.
e) Do you feel the urge to ask directions from innocent-looking-desi(s) in malls when your wife is accompanying you as well?
f) If yes, beware - she might be explaining the Pyramid Scheme in detail to your guy in your absence. (Some of our 485 applicants are really good, no matter how many detours they need to take in order to reach the top of a pyramid. You might be inviting The One into your life in Walmart Aisle # 17. I don't think so. 7% limit has been there for a very long time. Unused visas from prior years for ac21 purposes were still subject to 7% in current year. The 7% rule was unchanged.
It seems that you think that the unused visas from prior year were not subject to 7%. There is nothing of the sort that allows this.

as name suggests, you find a company with a already approved labour, they will apply your 1-140 with that labour, if you I-140 is approved you get to keep his PD and get a free ride,
while myself, has to wait 2 years for labour and another few years till my PD becomes current
in labor sub case, if one can find approved labour before 2001 (if you happen to be from India). you can get 1140 approval and apply for 485 if you everthing goes well you have your GC in 6-12 months
and did I mention this perfectly legal.
