My interest leads me into this forum and my immigration is indirectly related to my country India.
Do you agree that YSR was a gunda, a land grabber, political killer who amassed huge amounts of illegal wealth and land, never ever seen in the history of AP? You claim that you are not a supporter of any one. If that is the case then give due credit where required and criticize and condemn when it’s appropriate.
If not give me reasons to say why he is not so. I never said in my posts that I am for TDP. This has become very famous excuse to put up saying that the other person/party is also involved in corruption.
I am for corruption free India where politicians do not get involved in radical politics.

This is not fair and good idea. what about people waiting in line for years and invested their money elsewhere because of this green card delays or those who do not have enough money and job in this market situation. All of the sudden you are brining this idea. This is not fair. This is kind of buying green card. There is a investment based green card category available for that. I request you to go through that channel if you are rich. Not all employment based green card seekers are rich. Please keep that in mind.

Even if the proposal doesn�t work, it would at least give some awareness to the lawmakers that expediting EB green cards would pump lot of money into this country�s economy. Plus, it�s a great selling point for representatives like Lofgren, who is trying to help us by defending 100s of amendments from anti-immigrants like King and Smith.
Not all EB GC seekers are rich, but they are rich enough to afford for a home.
So please refrain from posting negative comments.

Just a FYI, MI law only does not allow DL's for new applicants.
Existing F1's/H1B's and those who already filed for 485's can keep renewing it.

Several Websites(Not RSS/VHP) says Christians are 6% now, Muslims are certainly more than 17-18% as millions of Bangladeshi Infiltirators are unaccounted. It is very evident from the fact as Muslim Votes are the deciding factor in the almost most areas of NorthEast, UP, Bihar & West Bengal and that is the only reason, Samajwadi Party & Congress start the Babri Maszid rhetoric just before elections. I would have had no problem with Manmohan Singh if he had ruled our country independently, if "Rahul Gandhi" and "Priyanka Gandhi" & "Sonia Gandhi" had to look into the mirror before endorsing him..They completely made a mockery of our democracy by putting puppets in PM's Office, President's office, CEC, CBI and what not. I wish It was Narsimha Rao or a Self Respectful leader who could stand tall infront of the dynasty, but Manmohan Singh sold himself... A quick fact check : Muslims are about 13.5% and christians are about 2% of india's population. So instead of 30% of india belonging to these two groups per your numbers, it is actually closer to 15%. Right wing extremists group use these exagerrated numbers to drive more gullible people into their communal parties. But you get those numbers from VHP/RSS. Check it tomorrow and it could be close to 40% !

I am on H1B and have my visa valid till Sep 30 2008, my wife and son also has H4 visas till Sep 30 2008.
I applied for my H1 & H4 extensions, received the receipt notices from NSC and our case are pending.
Now We are travelling to India on 7th Aug 2008 and return on 11th Sep 2008 about 19 days prior to our initial H1 / H4 visa stamps.
Should I need to do an amendment to my pending H1/H4 if they get approved while I was in India? If the extention cases wont approve even after I come back to US , do I still need an amendment when it gets approved.
Please suggest a best possible way

This is my first post which was not positive. I am backing up :). I am proud to be part of IV. I beleive in this cause.
Buck up :) We all go through it. I never take it personally. I would definitely be happy if more and more members come forward and help, instead of "missing in action" when needed most.
We would be really happy if new members come up and take initiatives (i am now keeping my messages positive :) ) , more active members, more strength.
participation is contigeous, all we need is some self motivators and self starters to kindle the fire.

I am just wondering.....
when will the day come when a lot of us will rush to Delhi.....braving the cold/heat....stand for hours........dancing to tunes of pop singers......while awaiting our beloved PM to show up and take oath of office........just like hundreds of thousands did when obama took office.........

will any one of us spend money to travel to Delhi to witness the next swearing cermony, assuming it where held in an open place, lets say raj ghat or something like that.
I am wondering.....
when will that charismatic leader (with really good intentions and sence of direction) emerge? from, a billion? Why is it taking so long? Is the whole germ pool spoiled? why dont we get the good ones to lead such populated nations? I dont have a clue about where and with whom the problem lies....

And Gowda is missing from the list. Last time when Lallu said 'Bring some Gadha/ Godha' He came again running saying I am Godha , I am Godha

First of all, thanks to IV for helping our cause.
Same as vinzen, that I usually just browse through this kinda topic, but I can't help to reply.
Have several question:
1. How many non-Indian in USA that watch bollywood movie? So, what makes him a high profile in the eyes of Immigration officer (IO)? Do we need to educate all IO to recoqnize all the actors in India, Pakistan, China, Japan, Korea and all others?
I personally never heard of this SRK guy before reading this thread. So how would you guys expect the immigration officer, who's mostlikely non-Indian, would know this guy? I agree with Pappu that says "He is a famous actor to a very very small minority Indian Community in USA".
2. Looking at how he make big deal of this in media. He probably cause this delay by himself. I can imagine the conversation at the immigration office as (copying all the answer from Ryan's earlier comment on what he's asked for when he came here):
IO: Why are you visiting US?
SRK: Do you know that I'm SRK?
IO: Who do you work for?
SRK: I'm SRK, now let me pass.
IO: Where will you live in US?
SRK: I'm SRK
IO: How long have you been in US?
SRK: I'm SRK
IO: Do you have family here?

And it goes on and on for 66 mins or 2 hrs until he finally realize that he's a nobody in US.
This is the kinda thread that non-Indian will laugh at. There's lots of non-Indian that goes to this public forum (such as me). Just trying to help IV to not lose credential just because of this sorts of "indian" exclusive thread.
My friend this is the greatest post ever. A real eye opener. But remember that it is through threads like these that you get to see the "real" Indian ideals. I am very sad to say that most of us Indians are screwed up with this idol worship. The conversation between SRK and IO that you put out is exactly true. I know a friend of mine who was waiting in line for the visa interview and ofcourse he is a megalomaniac (world revolves around him). He saw (or imagined) the visa officer talking tough to a women who apparently did not understand english right in front of him and decided he has to be the mesiah (savior). He jumped in and tried to save the women. Ultimately he was denied the visa and ofcourse he later met the women outside who was smiling because she had been granted one. that is why your conversation makes very good sense here. 2. Got RFE on Mar-2008 and replied to RFE on Apr-2008
RFE: 1. client contract 2. last 2 yrs my tax return
3. After Reply to RFE no news from USCIS
4. Applied for Premium processing on Jul-14-2008
5. I485 Pending and having EAD/AP for my family and Jul-09-2008 applied for EAD Renewal
My Questions:
1. Since my H1B expired on Jul-14 What is my status? Can I work till I get my H1B approval?.

You should have got a response from USCIS by now or by tomorrow latest. If not then they will have to refund your fee. Once you get approved, when you travel outside of US you will have to get your H-1 B visa -either in your home country or Mexico or Canada.

Correct, unlike in the past, USICS do have some constructive numbers with them now.
I am very very skeptical about the claim that USCIS moved the dates to June 2006 in a random fashion. They could have moved it to Dec 2005, but they moved it to June 2006 because they have the ACTUAL GC numbers (unlike us:)) and they have an estimate of how many could be adjudicated.
Wishful thinking? May be. But everything points to above.

3) How many members here have you actually worked worked with? Because the people I know here who actually do the grass root work with me (both eb2 and eb3) do not care about theb category they belong to.

No i have not. Why do i need to visit capitol hill and view in person what congress thinks about EB legislation when i can do the same by watching CSPAN(I am a regular watcher expecially when there is something immigrant related going on. All a process of expanding my knowlesge of immigration or do you think i got up yesterday morning and decided that i want to fight with IV. If you did then i am sorry i gave you more credit then that. And please do not start a new thread about how lazy i am and how i want others to work for me and how i just want the benefit without effort. That would be old and stale. If there is something to be done in which i believe i will be the first to jump in and volunteer

YES and i never said you are not fair. I know EB2 and EB23 owkr toghether in IV. My efforts of meeting people have been made outside the scope of what you and others do. I am being modest when i say this but i was the first person in my company to make generate awareness about what IV did and how it is helping immigrants like us and encouraged them to visit the website and read about what IV is all about. This is about 75 to 100 indains (EB2 and EB3) in an organization of size 500 during teh time period 2006 to 2007. Now most of them were EB2 so they got their green card and i am sure are no longer on the IV forum anymore. I am sure those who are still on IV forum are EB3 like me. How much they parrticipate, it is hard to tell. Maybe they were smarter than me and got dissalusioned with IV way before i did. They might be porting or they might not be for all i know
Besides that i am pretty much regular on Murthy where i have provided advise or tried to help people with information whne i could (O f course all of this was H1B/ Visit Visa stuff). Even today on IV forum i am trying my level best to help peopl ewith information related to AOS/EAD/140/485 etc

In the hypothetical scenario EB3 ROW won't be much worse. Especially since many (majority) Indian's have transferred to EB2 already.
So I don't understand how would ROW EB3 be much worse off than now.
The only "real losers" will be ROW EB2 which is current. As far as I know they are not constituents/members of IV so we should not worry about them.

05/29/2009: TSC is Reportedly in Line with NSC in Processing Time Reduction and Backlog Reduction
They have completed adjudication of almost all of the I-140 petitions which were filed during the FY 2007 Visa Bulletin fiasco (July and August 2007). As for the EB-485 applications, they have preadjudicated 85,000 cases which await the visa number availability beginning from the next fiscal year.
since the EB-485 cases involving fairly early priority dates have been preadjudicated, once the visa numbers progress forward beginning from the new fiscal year, October 2009, a large number of EB-485 waiters are likely to receive approvals of their long-awaited I-485 applications. Hats off to NSC and TSC!!
Lately, I-485 waiters have been receiving RFEs or interview scheduling in a fairly large number. From these reports, we can draw a speculation that these cases have fairly early priority dates and are now undergoing such preadjudications in anticipation for the upcoming visa number availability in early part of FY 2010. They may receive approvals of their cases fairly early in the new fiscal year. With such a good news, please enjoy the SUMMER! .

When did Srilankan Tamilians become Indian citizens??? also India should make sure that terrorists organisation like LTTE is wiped out from the face of earth weather its in Srilanka, Afganistan or Pakistan... gone are the days when these thugs where called 'freedom fighters' .. they are a terrorist organisation and should be treated in that manner.
Its in today TOI that Congress/UPA govt. has raised a concern to their PAK counterparts about safely of some 35 Sikh families living in a small village which falls in Taliban's territory.
Why not a single statement by UPA Govt. / MPS/ any high ranking diplomats for Srinlankan's Tamil ? Are they affraid of Congress leadership or what ?
I don't know for what cause LTTE is fighting for and see them as same other terrorist organization in name of freedom. Its LTTE and their leaders who should be punished and brought to justice for killing of Rajeev Gandhi, not the whole community.
Don't be too confident that you may never be in the situation like them. Who knows tomorrow ? History tells us that you would be never safe on foreign soil ! If its not you, it would be your next generation who might seek support from your home country

why do you think labor substitution would increase the backlog?
My company cancelled my labor process the day I resigned, tell me which big reputed company responded to a 45 day letter even when the candidate was not working with them, so that leaves us with companies like Cybersoft who filed multiple I-140 on one labor approval or there are people who are running parallel processes just to be safe and they are buying the sub. labor,so now even if the companies intention's are good,filling I-140 multiple times creates backlog in the service centers and then it is up to your fate if your file is picked up in the numerical order, in concurrent filling it was a race who got the the GC first the original beneficiary or the person who paid price for the same labor. Who are the people opposing substitution ban or the 45 day rule if you find them you will get your answers.
