This is racial profiling no doubt, but for good reason after what happened on 9/11. This is an unfortunate aftermath of 9/11 and IMHO a welcome one. If it wasnt for this kind of security we would have had many more 9/11ish incidents. I am glad this is a "part of life" now, otherwise I am not have a life. When you ask "When was the last time.. a US diplomat or US socialite was frisked and detained for 2 hrs in indian airports?", that is a big problem with the state of security in India. Not just US diplomat or US socialite even our own Indian ministers and celebrities dont get frisked or detained. You feel that is right when you hear about so many scandals of the underworld-bollywood nexus or politician-mafia nexus ? Forget about the nexus, its not right even if there was no connection with mafia. Rules should apply the same to everyone.
The balls you need to grow should be to ask politicians and celebrities to go through security like everyone else back home in India.

This kind of attitude will not help to acheive your goal. If US congress does not pass immigration that favors you may abuse everyone. Before that can you name any single country has such a better immiration policy than USA. You may name Canada and Australia. Canada many immigrants are struggling to survive for years so that is not attractive destination. Everyone knows what happens in Australia. A few violence will be enough to reduce immigration.

One things for sure, we cant clear all the problems EB Community is facing in one shot. Agreed that EB Visa recapture will help temporarily but that helps a lot , Still the movement should go on either on country cap or something that would eliminate backlog. But one thing for sure if we keep debating that we need all in one shot its not going to happen. One can keep complaining that i am ahead of many of others but think analytically, we dont enjoy a great support either in house or senate, getting a simple legislation or getting our cause on CIR is itself a big thing here.
Outsourcing is going to happen or not its a different story. US has shifted 99% of it manufacturing jobs, if all admin , it jobs are going to go away where does the money come from to run this country ? Eitherways it is going to happen more in recession, but how is that going to effect our outlook in this discussion ?

This thought of submission is exactly what has always pulled India back from moving forward. That unless you are corrupt you are not normal. Speaking out against corruption is abnormality for us. Every time I hear "Canadian taxes are so much higher", I respond back with "really ? how much are you paying a month for health insurance?". I suggest a typical breadwinner with spouse + 2 dependents is probably paying $500 / mo + in health insurance premiums. Add that $6K / yr to your US tax bill, then compare it to your Canadian tax bill. ;)

On other hand our Azhar is one of those who will sell his own mother for money. A disgrace to cricket world. Comparing him to Imran is like comparing Lion in Jungle to a Hyenna ( no disrespect to reading Hyenna).
Few years back bunch of cricketers originating from AP here in MI sponsored him and his wife to visit here. I was invited by come and shake hand and photograph with this bookie and his beautiful wife. Majority of people having self-respect politely rejected the invitation. Now I hear he is trying to become bookie in New Delhi. Good Luck!

DOS (or any government agency for that matter) cannot interpert the law differently for each year. One law and one interpretation. It can't follow the different set of rules when implementing the law each year. Initally, INA was designed to follow vertical spill over (diversity was important than preference catagory). But, AC21 law ameneded the INA to force the DOS to implement horizontal spill over (preference catagory is important than diversity). However, DOS was still follwing verical spill over evenafter the AC21 act till 2006. If DOS followd the law correctly, EB2-I and Ch would have never been retrogressed since 2005. Lucky for DOS, no one has challanged the DOS. Now they realized the mistake and follow the law correctly. They follw this till if congress changes the law.

This just ensured that someone doesnt wait too long. as you know, most of the vertical spillovers were consumed by EB3-India and china. Then, how can it promote diversity.
to make it simple, here is my understanding
Vertical spill over --> PD precedes EB category and Country of Origin
Horizontal spill over --> EB Category precedes PD and country of origin.

So this is very clear example where dates were current for June but they just came up on June 5th and asked to reject all other worker application..
Now why can't they do fsame or EB?
Do you know if they even accepected application that they got before June 5th.
That was 5th June as per Oh's website and Oh's website was quoting AILA's memo.

WDude, Googler, I am not against removing per country limits. But we need to have a cool head, think straight, objective and use facts. I just think it will be next to impossible to change the INA to remove those quotas so it's better to concentrate efforts on 1) visa recapture; 2) EB quota increase. Visas were lost mostly because of NC issue.
