There was an instance when a pop singer from India(Daler Mehdi) was accused of smugling illegal immigrants disguised as musicians. Point is, if somebody is a celebrity, that does not make him/her un touchable?

Has anybody really tried to get a mortgage recently? I have been denied by 8 lenders so far simply because I don't have a green card. Most lenders have tightened their underwriting guidelines. They will give mortgages only to U.S.Citizens or somebody who is a permanent resident aka having a green card. There are very very few lenders who will give mortgages to somebody on a visa and the rates may not be very favorable.

Hello,
I have a problem. My husband's green card has been approved 2.5 months back and mine wasn't approved yet. I was called in for interview. Honestly, we dont know the reason why.
One of the documents that we need to present during the interview, is my husband's EVL. Since he already got his GC, we just learned few days back that his salary should at least match the prevailing wage in his labor certification. Unfortunately, we dont have a copy of his labor, Thus, we dont know his prevailing wage. One thing, we are sure of is his current salary is lower than the offered wage.
Now, during the interview there's a chance that the officer will notice that there is a discrepancy in the numbers.
So concerned about this. Any advice on what to do??? Please please we really need your help.

My question: I came to us on F1 Visa. I do not have my last name in my passport. Yes it is true ..stupid passport department missed it as they write names with hand ... passport was made when I was in high school…9th grade to be precise. I never got it corrected and came to us …visa was issued to me using FNU firstname format. When I applied for I-20 SSN, and everything in US after that I added my last name (my actual family name which got missed in passport) as us system does not allow blank last name. Note that my passport last page correctly shows my fathers and mothers last name which I have added on all my us documents like SSN, DL, … now I have been in us from past 5 years with all ( and I actually mean all) my us docs like H1, SSN, I-20, License, 495 application etc in firstname lastname format. ….. the only 2 things which are not in my first name last name format is

Note that it would certainly not benefit the other 60%+ from countries other than India that are also stuck in various steps (EB3, name check). So, unless you want IV to stand for IndiaVoice, you should concentrate your admirable effort on increasing the overall quota (with increased per-country quota), excluding dependents, etc.

When folks transfer to a new employers using AC21 (where AC21 is otherwise valid) -
0. NOT APPLICABLE: for folks who only use the EAD for the AC21 and do not use H1 transfer.
1. OK: for folks where you work directly for the new H1 transfer sponsor.
2. DIFFICULT: When H1 transfer using AC21 is sought from a sponsor just to meet AC21 criteria, while one works as a consultant.
AC21 Beware - is specially meant for those wishing to seek AC21 from a small consulting company - because finding some big employer who would presently write a job description in the offer letter to match the criteria ("same or similar") that was advertised for the Labor certificate underlying a I-485 petition that has been pending 7 or more years back does not seem very practical.

I applied for I-485 for myself , my wife ans son, on July 27th 07 (Thi sis the receipr date), My lawyer did not send the medical reports with the application. Currently the reports are with him. Medical exam was done on July 18 07. My PD will be current in Aug 08(as per the bulletin). I am sure i will get an RFE for the medical reports, and most probably it wil come in AUG 08 or later.
My question is, do i need to go for medical exam again , or can my lawer send the reports that he has with him to USCIS in reply to the RFE? I am confused since, by the time i get the RFE, the reports would be more than 1 year old.

Employers hire only based on talent, ROW people must have less marketable skills or not want to leave their countries and we need to teach the US on capitalist principles.

I will say we are one. We can a fair system which allows skills to be a deciding cretaria for EB immigration not the country of origin. If you ask me I will say there should be no cap on total number of EB Immg. visas and no country of birth cap. You want equality so stop supporting discrimination first.
